Start by inserting the AAA batteries on the bottom. Then add the SD card into the SD
card slot on the right side of the camera (front camera facing you). Line up the case to
the camera board and fold it over to the back. Use the golden screws to fasten the case
in place at the top.

Choose a filter on the back and press the shutter button on the front.

You’ll need the video function card or the USB-C cable and a power bank if you don’t
have the function card. If you’re using the function card, insert it inside the camera on
the right side underneath the SD card slot and choose the 3 rd filter on the back to take
time-lapse videos or the 4 th filter to take regular 10-second videos.
For regular video, the camera indicators on the back will flash for 10 seconds and it’ll
stop once the recording is done. When you’re recording a time-lapse video, you’ll want
to leave the camera alone for 30 minutes while it continuously takes photos that will
come together to create the video.

There are 2 indicators on the back, the left is for the SD card and if that is flashing, it
either means the SD card is missing, not put in correctly, is full, or the card is needing to
be re-formatted.
The indicator on the right is for the batteries and that means the batteries need to be
changed. Use the cable your order came with to plug the camera in and charge the
batteries.

The camera lasts between 1 and 2 weeks on a single charge but of course, it all depends
on how often you’re using the camera.

You need high quality AAA rechargeable batteries, we recommend Bonai batteries
which we sell on the website, but any AAA rechargeable batteries would do.

The camera is created with stone paper which actually isn’t even paper, it’s crushed
rock. We’ve tested the general sturdiness of our cameras by chucking them across our
homes and they’ve all stood the test of time. They are also kid-proof and water-
resistant.

We like to say the camera is water resistant. It can withstand rain, snow, and a few
coffee spills but we do not recommend dunking the camera in water.

The camera sets are designed for people who want the camera and a few accessories to
start their Paper Shoot journey. We have a few different sets, and each set comes with
different cases and accessories.

The cases are easily interchangeable, all you need to do is unscrew the golden screws at
top and replace the case with a new one. Match up the center of the case with the
camera board and fold the case to the back. Fasten the case in place with the screws.

Yes! Our cases are biodegradable! The cases are created from pressed limestone and
break down into a biodegradable resin after about a year of no use and constant
exposure to the outside elements.

There are indicators on the back that tell you if the camera needs charging or if there’s
an issue with your SD card. The left indicator on the back is for the SD card and it’ll flash
when there’s an issue regarding the SD card.

The SD card sold on the website is 32GB and holds about 6,000 photos. If you’re also
taking videos, that number is closer to 5,000. You can use an SD card of up to 128 GB.

There are three ways to see photos from the camera. The first is to take the SD card out
and pop it into your laptop. Once you do, a folder will pop up with the photos you’ve
taken. You can also use an SD card reader for your phone. Plug the SD card into the
reader and connect the reader to your phone. Go to your photos and a download icon
will pop up on the bottom. You can also use the USB-C cable that comes with your order
to connect the entire camera to your laptop and you’ll get the same folder on your
screen with all your photos.

Formatting SD card for Windows (32 GB SD card)
1. Select this PC in File Manager and right click your SD card in the Devices
section
2. Click format
3. Click the File system drop down and select FAT32
4. Click Start
5. Click Ok
Formatting SD card for MAC (MS-DOS)
1. Insert your SD card into your Mac using its SD card slot or an SD card reader
2. Open Disk Utility
3. Select SD card
4. Navigate to the top menu bar and click erase
5. Choose appropriate file system format (EXFAT for SD cards over 64 GB; MS-
DOS FAT if it’s 32 GB or smaller)

Function cards can be used by being placed in the function card slot on the right side of
the camera underneath the SD card slot. Then choose your filter on the back and press
the shutter button on the front.
If you’re using the video function card, you’ll move the filter switch on the back to the
3 rd filter if you want to take a time-lapse video and the 4 th filter if you want to take a
regular video. All other function cards utilize the filters the same way, use the filters on
the back as you regularly do.

Filter cards work the same way as function cards. You’re going to put these in the same
slot as the regular function cards. Choose your desired filter and press the button on the
front of the camera to take your photo.

We have 2 types of lenses, ones created as a magnet for regular cases and screw-on lenses
created for new screw ring cases. If you’re using the screw lenses, you’ll get a little screw ring
(lens adapter) and a hex key that’ll help you fasten the lens in place.
Place the screw ring on top of the camera lens making sure that the side with the small hole is
facing up. Then use the key to twist it tightly in place. Then screw the lens right on top of the
camera until it tightens. The magnetic lenses can be placed right on top of the camera lens. No
need to twist or tighten, they're magnetic!

The hand crank allows you to change the speed of your video when recording on the
Paper Shoot Camera.

1. Format your SD card to EXFAT (see ‘How to Format Your SD Card).
2. Keep the SD card connected to your computer. You’ll see a zip file on your
computer, unzip and drag it to your SD card.
3. Insert the SD card into the camera
4. Plug it in to turn on the camera
a. Let the left LED light flash for 1 minute, then it’ll flash faster for 3 seconds,
then it’ll stop flashing and will stay on constantly. This means the upgrade is
done.

5. Take the SD card out and delete the bin file – Make sure to disconnect the power
from the camera (no plug and no batteries).
6. Plug your hand crank into the left of the camera (front of camera facing towards
you).

7. Add the video function card into the function card slot underneath the SD card slot
and go to the 4 th filter. Press the shutter button and enjoy the hand crank!
