Grandma's Quilt

$30.00

Description
The design of this camera is inspired by my favorite quilt and time of the year, summer. Quilts are associated with feelings of comfort and nostalgia, and my aim was to create a camera design that evokes the same emotions. Capturing memories is what photography is all about, and photos serve as little time capsules that remind us of the different seasons of our lives, just like patches on a quilt. During summer, I love going through all the pictures I have taken while lying in bed after a long day under the sun or at the beach. My goal was to create a camera that captures the same happy feeling one gets while looking at those pictures.

Karalyn Hood

My name is Karalyn Hood, and I'm a 21-year-old senior at the University of Michigan. I'm studying Design and Production with a concentration in scenic and environmental design and a minor in Global Media Studies. I love art that's immersive and experiential. I've been creating for as long as I can remember, and I love being able to evoke emotion through visual expression. My favorite styles are surrealism and pop art, and I draw a lot of inspiration from the world around me and how we interact with even the most mundane things in our everyday lives.
