Why It's Worth Using the Paper Shoot Over a Disposable Camera

We've said it before and we'll say it again, the Paper Shoot Camera is the best camera to use for film and disposable-looking photos! We know vintage photography is trending right now which means everyone's buying a disposable camera to get those grainy nostalgic shots. While we very much understand this trend and are equally obsessed with the photos, we can't help but notice how much money and time you're draining when using a disposable camera.

We did a little calculating and figured out just how much waste there really is! Disposable cameras run between $15-$25. Developing costs run about $16 and all for JUST 27 photos. Having experimented with these costs, our team bought disposables and took our 27 photos before developing and noticing how only a few pictures came out in good quality. Here are just a few examples of some of the photos that didn't impress anyone on the team.

Now let's talk about the Paper Shoot Camera! The camera starts at $130 and while that might seem like a lot of money, you're getting so much more bang for your buck. The camera uses an SD card to store all your photos, and since we normally sell a 32 GB card, that typically holds around 5,000 photos. But of course, once the SD card is full, the camera will alert you when it's time to empty the card on your computer and place it back into the camera to keep re-using over and over. So, you could say the Paper Shoot Camera is unlimited!

Not only that but you can shoot videos and time-lapse videos with your Paper Shoot. You also get 4 built-in photo filters that all have a gorgeous look to them plus, there are tons of accessories you can add to your order, like a ring light, lenses, and function cards that give you the ability to take double exposure and Polaroid-style photos among many others. You also have to admit a disposable camera is pretty chunky and takes up a lot of space while the paper Shoot Camera is super lightweight, very slim, and can fit into almost any pocket or purse.

We pride ourselves on using eco-friendly materials when manufacturing our cameras. We source biodegradable materials for our cases and recycled parts for our camera boards. Everything about the Paper Shoot Camera is reusable which means nothing gets thrown out as long as you take care of it. Disposable cameras get thrown out after the 27 photos have been taken and developed leading to more waste in the landfills.

All of this to say, we don't hate film or disposable cameras, we love the photos that they capture (well some of them) but our team knows we can do better for the environment and the planet than using single-use products. We can still get those beautiful film-looking photos without wasting time and money, and adding more trash to landfills.
